A WC fails at the base when it's mounted skewed or re-sealed with a compressed ring: a used wax or rubber seal never re-compresses, it weeps from day one, and the "mystery bathroom smell" is that weep. We level the base, fit a new seal, set cistern height and fill line, torque evenly, and fill-test twice before handover.
Floor-standing units are the Sri Lankan standard; wall-hung is rare and gets a different bracket and carrier conversation up front. Dual-flush upgrades are the most common swap — same visit, same seal discipline. Your own WC is welcome at the labor-only rate after inspection; the base drops accordingly.

Cause
Reused wax rings and out-of-level bases seep at the floor within weeks — the classic "mystery bathroom smell."

What to Do Before We Arrive
- Turn off the water supply valve behind the toilet or at the mains.
- Clear the area around the toilet so we have room to work.
- If replacing a WC, have the new unit delivered and accessible.
